
As Research Associate and Communications Lead for the OneCity Project, Stanéa supports research and stakeholder engagement on issues at the intersection of youth participation and urban governance. A trained GIS professional, she specializes in translating complex spatial research into accessible tools, visualizations, and narratives that shape policy discussions on urban equity and inclusion.
At CAPRI, she has led spatial modelling for crime hotspot analysis in Groundwork for Peace: Reorienting ZOSOs for Sustained Violence Reduction and authored a section on Space Syntax as a method for measuring street network connectivity and integration in Who Gets What: Mapping Rights, Access and the Future of Jamaica’s Cities.
She holds a BSc in Geography (Honors) from the University of the West Indies, Mona, and is currently pursuing an MSc in Natural Resource Management with a specialization in Disaster Risk Management. Her professional training includes certifications in Applied GIS and Remote Sensing (UWI/LICJ, 2023), Disaster Risk Financing and Parametric Insurance (CCRIF & UWI, 2024), and advanced Esri MOOCs, with certifications in Cartography and Spatial Data Science pending.
Beyond her professional work, Stanéa is an advocate for data-driven and interactive approaches to climate and community resilience. She currently serves as Administrator of the Climate Resilience and Management Committee (2025/26) for Leo District 60B.
