Suzanne Shaw is an Energy Economist with 13 years' international experience in the sustainable energy and climate change sectors. Her early experience, within a Brussels-based renewable energy consultancy, involved advising European policy-makers on the effectiveness of energy policies for achieving renewable energy and environmental targets, as well as providing strategy advice to energy industries on renewable energy investments, based on financial analysis and projected market trends.

Suzanne subsequently joined the Institute for Energy (Joint Research Centre) of the European Commission where she gave technical input to energy and environmental policy-making, and performed economic and market analyses for emerging energy technologies in Europe. She also managed a number of international collaborative projects in the sustainable energy field. Following this, Suzanne worked as an energy economist in a Paris-based institute specialised in climate change policy analysis.

Suzanne returned to the Caribbean in 2012 to manage CaPRI's EU-funded renewable energy programme. Suzanne has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of the West Indies, a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Economics from Paris-Dauphine University.
